SPOTLIGHT NEWS
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2009
Hi there
everyone – glad to see you all back
after the holiday season! Hope you
are
all well and rarin’ to go! Welcome
to
all our new CATS KIDZ just getting into the routine!
News!
CONGRATULATIONS to all 6 candidates who successfully
passed their R.A.D.
Intermediate Foundation Ballet Exam in Manchester: Shannon
Moor passed with Merit!
Jasmine Webb, Amy
Keenan, Imogen Slinn, Shannon Vassell, & Zoe Tildesley! WOW!
This is a very high standard to reach by 11 & 12
years! Well done!
CONGRATULATIONS
to all our girls who took
their R.A.D. Ballet Exams and passed with great success!
Highest marks were Gemma Bailey with 83 and
Distinction for her Grade 8, and Kamira Gee with 81 and Distinction for
her
Grade 3.
CONGRATULATIONS
go to Amie Carter and
Sophie Blair who won 2nd place in the finals of the All
England
Dance Festival in London at the Peacock Theatre with their superb dance
duet –
“Leisure” thanks to Hannah Davies – this was her dance with Sophie but
she was
on holiday on the day of the finals – having reached through 2 heats to
qualify. Amie stepped in to dance in her
place with not much time to rehearse so well done!
Jasmine Webb again reached the finals this
time with both her Character and her Modern solo.
Sophie qualified with her Modern Solo. This
is a great achievement for CATS to reach this level and down to Vicki
with her
great choreography, and her dogged determination, and encouragement.
We went
to Dunstable to watch Zoe
Tildesley and Shannon Moor perform in Coppelia with the English Youth
Ballet. They
did the summer school and thoroughly
enjoyed the challenge of the classes and working with Professionals. We
were
very proud of our girls!
Jordan,
Amie, & Sophie did a Summer
School at Bird
College,
& Ellie, Gemma, Tom Wright
& Sophie did another week at ArtsEd. They all learnt a lot and
thoroughly
enjoyed all the hard work!
Good
luck to Tom Bevan who starts at Masters College
in September – can’t wait to see
how he gets on! Several Pupils are starting at Stratford so good luck to you!
Emma
Jayne & Ruth started the super
new “MELODY BEAR” dance classes on a Wednesday for tinies!
They are doing so well we are having to put
on another class after lunch to cope with the demand!
First dance steps from 1 ½ years to Pre School
they dance with storylines about Melody Bear who has her own tutu and
ballet
shoes! They all
bring their teddies and it is such fun!
We have the first little ones with their
Mums – so they get to dance too! (and
a
Dad who insists on his fairy wand!)
What a great introduction to early movement and
dance!
