SPOTLIGHT
NEWS UPDATE JANUARY 2009
Hello
everyone – it’s good to be back to normal after the great show and the
Christmas break! Many thanks for all your lovely cards and presents –
Vicki and
I had a great time on Christmas morning opening pretty packages and
reading
messages! We will smell lovely for a long time and enjoy choccies and
biscuits
sparingly for a few weeks while telling everyone we are dieting!
We
had the BEST SHOW EVER – with the NICEST KIDS IN TOWN!
The
comments that keep reaching us are terrific! It does make CATS so
special!
At
the moment we are looking at 2 west end performances for us. Star EFX
is
producing a variety show at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday 5th
April and Tony, the director, is saving a place for us. He will be
coming to
see us audition and to talk to the parents to inform us as to how this
type of
show works in the next 2 weeks. More news as soon as I hear from him.
Vicki
hopes to do “Under the Sea”, possibly “Pirates”, the senior acro “The
Deep” and
maybe “Paint it Black”.
Tony
said as we have twice the normal number of dancers we could take 2
slots! Our
second choice is a Mardi Gras performance at the Royal Albert Hall on
Sunday 3rd
May – these are more complicated and only one number can be danced,
with the
whole cast joining in the grand finale.
Major
exams on February 7th – Intermediate Ballet, Advanced 1 and
Advanced
2 Ballet all working like mad to get good results. On the R.A.D. Exam
front –
those exam results still not yet through from last session. We wait!!
Zoe
Harker is in Spain
starting her 6 month dancer contract. Nick is enjoying his panto
experience in
Aladdin in Tunbridge Wells. Connor is having a great time in Germany
in We Will Rock You. CATS
wish them a superb dancing and prosperous new year! Jeren has started
back
teaching at her school in Leamington
(JayKays)
again after the birth of Heidi.
On
Saturday 24th January, STAGE CLUB will be held at Ashlawn School
as we have L.A.M.D.A. Musical Theatre Exams at the community centre.
We
are having to update or Tuesday timetable for 2009 and having
rescheduled our
Grade 3 R.A.D.’s into the 4.15 to 6.15 slot. Our Intermediate
Foundation Grade
R.A.D.’s will be 4.45 to 7pm.
I do hope everyone will be able to accommodate this as we are trying
very hard
to get the best possible training for the children!
Please
note that Stage Club will be held at Ashlawn School
on Saturday
February 28th in preparation for our East Warwickshire Dance
Festival in March.
We
wish you all a very good start to 2009 and are looking forward top an
excellent
year of dance!
