Welcome
to February news! CATS are looking forward to appearing in Star EFX
Variety
Show – Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End
on Sunday 5th
April! We
will be backstage where all the scenery and props for Phantom of the
Opera is
stored – great! Please watch the notice boards for extra rehearsals –
along
with festival practices, we are so busy!
Message
from Tony – sorry about box office tickets at the moment – he has had a
bereavement in his family and had to redirect phone calls. Please
observe the
correct box office times to help out – for the next couple of weeks.
Jo,
Ruth and Dani are starting some new classes on a Monday to encourage
boys and
girls who don’t really want to do ballet and theatre stage dance, but
would
like to learn freestyle, break-dance, hip hop etc. (we currently do all
these
types of dance within our basic 2 hour classes, so you’re not missing
anything!) We are calling the new classes “STRICTLY STREET” and hope to
welcolme
new Kidz to the school. Please tell your friends to come along and try!
Jo is
doing a trial class on Monday 16th February 4.00 – 5.00 for
7 years
and under and 5.00 – 6.00pm
for 8 years and up. First class is FREE!
Our
annual East Warwickshire Dance Festival is looming fast1 Please pay up
your
fees as directed on the accounts – Karen Thompson is coming up each
Saturday to
collect monies in so SEE HER PLEASE! I am still being handed cheques in
without
envelopes or details. Thanks.
Big
exams coming up on February 7th. Good luck girls on your
Majors!
Our
next I.D.T.A exams will hopefully be 24th and 25th
April.
We have Modern Jazz – grades 3, 4, 5 and Advanced 1. Younger children
will have
Tricks and Tumbles Gymnastics and Primary Gymnastics exams.
Don’t
forget we are at Ashlawn for our
festival rehearsals on Saturday 28th February.
Amy
Down is Dorothy in Churchover Pantaloons’ production of the Wizard of
Oz next
week. Esme is playing Toto! Good Luck girls!
Ruth
will be teaching a Pre Associate Modern Jazz class on Wednesday s from 6.00 – 7.00pm starting after
the
festivel! This is a teaching exam with the I.D.T.A. Names if you are
interested
– you have to be 16 when taking the exam and have passed the
intermediate.
Names for this teaching class to me please.
Good
luck to all our competition kidz who are entered in the Milton Keynes
Festival
– Senior troupes on Sunday 8th March.
Inspire
is coming on Saturday 31st January and bringing their mobile
shop.
We are interested in their new Flyte pointe shoes they have developed
so Claire
(an ex professional dancer) is coming to give us news on them.
Helen
had her first Musical Theatre Exam session at Hillmorton last week and
we are
eagerly waiting for results! Vicki starts work soon on choreography for
“Oaklahoma”
for Rugby Theatre and Helen is director. Several of our seniors
successfully
auditioned recently so we will have to watch out for this one! Out of
time and
space again, moor news soon!
