SPOTLIGHT NEWS UPDATE FEBRUARY 2009.

Welcome to February news! CATS are looking forward to appearing in Star EFX Variety Show – Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End on Sunday 5th April! We will be backstage where all the scenery and props for Phantom of the Opera is stored – great! Please watch the notice boards for extra rehearsals – along with festival practices, we are so busy!

Message from Tony – sorry about box office tickets at the moment – he has had a bereavement in his family and had to redirect phone calls. Please observe the correct box office times to help out – for the next couple of weeks.

Jo, Ruth and Dani are starting some new classes on a Monday to encourage boys and girls who don’t really want to do ballet and theatre stage dance, but would like to learn freestyle, break-dance, hip hop etc. (we currently do all these types of dance within our basic 2 hour classes, so you’re not missing anything!) We are calling the new classes “STRICTLY STREET” and hope to welcolme new Kidz to the school. Please tell your friends to come along and try! Jo is doing a trial class on Monday 16th February 4.00 – 5.00 for 7 years and under and 5.00 – 6.00pm for 8 years and up. First class is FREE!

Our annual East Warwickshire Dance Festival is looming fast1 Please pay up your fees as directed on the accounts – Karen Thompson is coming up each Saturday to collect monies in so SEE HER PLEASE! I am still being handed cheques in without envelopes or details. Thanks.

Our next I.D.T.A exams will hopefully be 24th and 25th April. We have Modern Jazz – grades 3, 4, 5 and Advanced 1. Younger children will have Tricks and Tumbles Gymnastics and Primary Gymnastics exams.

Don’t forget we are at Ashlawn  for our festival rehearsals on Saturday 28th February.

Amy Down is Dorothy in Churchover Pantaloons’ production of the Wizard of Oz next week. Esme is playing Toto! Good Luck girls!

Ruth will be teaching a Pre Associate Modern Jazz class on Wednesday s from 6.00 – 7.00pm starting after the festivel! This is a teaching exam with the I.D.T.A. Names if you are interested – you have to be 16 when taking the exam and have passed the intermediate. Names for this teaching class to me please.

Good luck to all our competition kidz who are entered in the Milton Keynes Festival – Senior troupes on Sunday 8th March.

Inspire is coming on Saturday 31st January and bringing their mobile shop. We are interested in their new Flyte pointe shoes they have developed so Claire (an ex professional dancer) is coming to give us news on them.

Helen had her first Musical Theatre Exam session at Hillmorton last week and we are eagerly waiting for results! Vicki starts work soon on choreography for “Oaklahoma” for Rugby Theatre and Helen is director. Several of our seniors successfully auditioned recently so we will have to watch out for this one!
